Cayenne Pepper and Water Diet

The "cayenne pepper and water diet" has been getting a lot of attention lately, mainly due to rumours flying around about Beyonce Knowles employing this particular diet to aid in her weight loss for her Dream girl's role. Rumours flew that Beyonce was able to drop twenty pounds by eating nothing and only drinking water that was flavoured with cayenne pepper for a period of time.

There is a lot more to this supposed cayenne pepper and water diet than you will find by reading the rumour sites. This cayenne pepper and water diet is actually The Master Cleanse.

This diet (much more than just a cayenne pepper and water diet) was created in 1941 by a man named Stanley Burroughs and was a significant portion of a book titled "Lose Weight, Have More Energy and Be Happier in 10 Days" by Peter Glickman. It is because of the book that this diet (also called the lemonade diet) has become so popular.

The diet involves spending ten days eating no solid food but getting nourishment through a mixture of water, cayenne pepper, lemon juice and maple syrup. The mixture can be ingested cold or warm and makes sure that your body gets the vitamins and minerals it needs while avoiding the ketosis that can happen from people who choose to diet with only water. The cayenne pepper's role is to promote your metabolism's activity. The diet also involves drinking a laxative tea at night and drinking a large amount of salt enhanced water in the morning-to aid in the digestive system's elimination of the body's waste.

The idea behind this diet is to rid your body of toxins and other congestion that has built up over time. It is technically not a diet at all, but a fast.

This diet, or fast, has been met with both praise and criticism. The critics say that, especially when carried on for too long, this diet will cause deficiencies in important proteins, minerals, vitamins and micronutrients. It can be harmful to people who suffer from digestive diseases like irritable bowel syndrome and that it could remove bacteria that is actually good for the body as well as the bacteria that is bad. The praise points to the weight loss and to a variety of other benefits. People who have gone through the cleanse claim that they do feel better physically once it's done. They also have said that it helps them to better realize the role the food plays in their lives.

It is your choice to take part in this diet (or fast). Ten days seems to be the average length, and there are both criticisms and praise for this plan. It is important to note, however, that this is not simply a cayenne pepper and water diet. There are other ingredients as well and a strict regimen to follow. It seems to work best for people who know what their goals are and what they hope to achieve after the cleanse is done.

What is Water Made Of ? Tip #1

Water is a natural appetite suppressant. It is the safest way to keep your appetite down as it will make you feel full and flush itself out of your system through urination and sweat. This isn't to say that you should just drink water all of the time and not eat food if you are trying to lose weight, but drinking water is a way to make your stomach feel more full than it is.

What is Water Made Of ? Tip #2

All living creatures are made primarily of water. Eighty percent of the human body is made of water. Seventy five percent of the human brain is water. Plants are as much as ninety percent water. Water is what keeps all living organisms alive.

What is Water Made Of ? Tip #3

The water that is on the planet now is thought to be the water that was on the planet even before the dinosaurs walked around. This is because water is mostly self sustaining. It is also the only element that exists in all three natural states: solid, liquid and gas.
