Lemon Water Diet

The lemon water diet or lemonade diet is another name for the Master Cleanse. The master cleanse was first thought up by Stanley Burroughs and has gained popularity in the last few years partly due to mention in the book "Lose Weight have more Energy and Be Happier in 10 Days" by Peter Glickman and partly because celebrities have been singing its praise. Beyonce Knowles has done the lemon water diet and claims that it is responsible for her weight loss during the film Dreamgirls.

The lemon water diet, or master cleanse is different from other diets in that it is really more of a fast. There is no solid food eaten during this diet and nutrients are absorbed through the drinking of a mixture of lemon juice, maple syrup, cayenne pepper and water. This drink is supposed to be ingested several times a day and supplemented with plain water. Every morning people who are following this diet will drink a large amount of salted water and every night, right before heading to bed, they will drink a cup of laxative tea. These drinks are intended to push the toxins through peoples' systems and rid them of the bacteria and toxins that have caused deterioration to their health.

While many have sung its praises as a weight loss diet, it is really more of a colon cleanse, though it is possible to lose weight quickly while taking part in the program.

The idea behind this cleanse is to break people of their dependency on food-not the need for food to stay healthy, but the use of food as a crutch for other problems. It will teach program followers just how much they use food as a crutch to deal with their daily lives and will force them to examine their feelings about food over all. The diet is also used to cleanse people of congestion and there are accounts of people feeling the weight leaving their lungs-weight they had previously not known existed.

With any diet or cleanse there are pros and cons. The negative aspects of this diet are the extreme physical symptoms people experience, particularly during the first few days (or detoxing period) of the diet. People have complained of physical aches and pains, nausea, extreme headaches and intense cravings during this time. They also experience tiredness and often experience irritability. People have also said that they like this diet because it teaches them to approach food differently and it revitalizes their bodies and spirits. People at the end of the cleanse claim that they have more energy and just "feel better" than they did at the beginning of the cleanse.

Whether or not you follow the lemon water diet is up to you. Make sure you check with your doctor before starting any kind of diet and make sure you read the materials thoroughly before embarking on the process. This isn't a diet that should be entered lightly and together you and your doctor can figure out if it is right for you.

Water is a natural appetite suppressant. It is the safest way to keep your appetite down as it will make you feel full and flush itself out of your system through urination and sweat. This isn't to say that you should just drink water all of the time and not eat food if you are trying to lose weight, but drinking water is a way to make your stomach feel more full than it is.

All living creatures are made primarily of water. Eighty percent of the human body is made of water. Seventy five percent of the human brain is water. Plants are as much as ninety percent water. Water is what keeps all living organisms alive.

What is Water Made Of ? Tip #3

The water that is on the planet now is thought to be the water that was on the planet even before the dinosaurs walked around. This is because water is mostly self sustaining. It is also the only element that exists in all three natural states: solid, liquid and gas.
